Celebrity Pickleball Tournament on CBS Primetime with Stephen Colbert

If you love to play pickleball (and you are on our site, so you most definitely do!), you should consider yourself in good company. It turns out that Stephen Colbert (yes, of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert) is a huge pickleball fan and player. So much so that he is partnering with CBS Studios and Funny or Die to create a two-hour pickleball special that promises to be “competitive” and “celebrity-packed.”

What We Know About Stephen Colbert’s Pickleball Tournament So Far

While there aren’t a lot of details just yet, the program is rumored to be airing on CBS and Paramount+ sometime later this year and will be called Pickled. It’s also been announced that the winning team will receive the “Golden Gherkin.”

The format, which celebrities we can expect to see, and the exact release date should come over the next few months.

Which Celebrities Are Known Picklers?

Even though they haven’t announced who the players will be, we have a few guesses based on known celebrities who tout their love for the game and show up to various tournaments.

Here are some celebrities that might compete:

●      Bill Gates, co-founder of Microsoft

●      Ellen DeGeneres, host of The Ellen DeGeneres Show

●      Actor Leonardo DiCaprio

●      Junna Bush Hager, daughter of former US President George W. Bush and co-host of TODAY with Hoda & Jenna

●      NFL Quarterback, Nick Foles

●      Media personality, Kim Kardashian

●      Entrepreneur and internet personality, Gary Vaynerchuck

●      Tennis legend, John McEnroe

And many more!

Of course, this is all just speculation, but who wouldn’t want to see a fiery combo of GaryVee and the Superbrat storming around in the kitchen?

Who Will Win the Golden Gherkin?

What do you think? Are you excited that pickleball is coming to primetime? And which celebrities would you love to see dink their way to victory?

Stay tuned for more updates as they roll in!
