Selkirk Labs is Live, The Quest for Pickleball Perfection

Selkirk Labs is one of the latest initiatives from one of the most popular brands in pickleball, Selkirk.

We’ve been tracking their progress since they announced a teaser and released the new design of a unique looking paddle. But now, Selkirk Labs is officially live.

On the Selkirk Labs website, two “projects” are currently available. Although, one is currently sold out. The Selkirk Labs Project 002 has received most of the hype. Probably due to its “cut-out” design. A half-moon shaped hole is in the bottom of the surface of the paddle toward the grip. This is in hopes of providing never-before aerodynamics so that players can get more speed on their swing.

The Selkirk Labs Project 001 is shipping soon and does not include the cut-out.

Both Selkirk Labs Paddles are $333. You read that right. And so far, that’s been the most criticized things about the paddles. Most players aren’t looking to spend north of $300 for their paddles, so many pickleballers are opting for more affordable performance options.

But the jury’s still debating. Are these paddles worth the extra cash or not? Let us know in the comments!
