The Current World Pickleball Rankings

This past weekend was the PPA Texas Open Shootout and what a weekend it was! First off, pickleball made its debut on Fox Sports which aired three matches on Championship Sunday.

In Pro Men Singles, Zane Navratil beat JW Johnson (8-11,11-0,11-3,11-6) to capture his first PPA title. Tyson McGuffin took bronze by defeating John Cincola.

In Pro Women Singles, Anna-Leigh Waters beat Lea Jansen (11-9,11-5,11-6) to take gold and Catherine Parenteau took bronze by defeating Callie Smith in the consolation bracket.

In Pro Men Doubles, Ben Johns took another Gold Medal with partner Matt Wright by winning three straight (​​11-5,12-10,11-5) over Rob Cassidy and Rob Nunnery. Riley Newman and Tyson McGuffin took bronze over AJ Koller and Thomas Wilson.

Pro Women Doubles quite possibly had the championship match of the year. Anna-Leigh Waters and Leigh Waters won the first two games and were up 8-1 in game three. Simone Jardim and Lucy Kovalova pulled off the comeback of the year and ended up taking the gold medal (5-11,2-11,11-8,11-7,11-7).

In Pro Mixed Doubles, Tyson McGuffin and Callie Smith upset Ben Johns and Simone Jardim on their way to taking home the title. Tyson and Callie beat Jessie Irvine and Jay Devilliers in three games in the championship match. The young duo of Anna-Leigh Waters and JW Johnson took the bronze by defeating Vivienne David and Dekel Bar.
